Strong and effective Mentoring can be thought of as the critical factor in the success of minority professionals. Because of its importance, the Toigo Foundation has placed Mentoring at the center of its APEx™ leadership curriculum.

We believe that Mentoring is more than a one-time encounter and exchange of contact information; we believe it is a process that takes place throughout one’s career, a cycle that includes coaching, formalized mentoring, and the expectation that, upon graduation, the Fellow will reciprocate by becoming a Coach and a Mentor. Fellows benefit from a structured program of coaching and mentoring during business school, and Alumni are able to tap into advanced professional mentoring resources.

Uniquely designed training programs impart the relevant tools to form a strong partnership. In the Toigo definition of Mentoring, everyone benefits. Mentors and Coaches gain perspective and skills, which are immediately transferable to the day-to-day work life.

All Mentors and Coaches become part of a dynamic team of advocates, colleagues, peers, and other professionals who serve as a supportive network to help prepare Fellows and Alumni for the responsibilities they will assume as successful financial professionals and industry leaders.
