Founder's Message

I am grateful every day for the overwhelming individual contributions of time and financial support that have allowed us to build a remarkable group of finance leaders with an unwavering dedication to making a difference. Progress is made, little by little, year after year. It is an ongoing, enduring effort that all of us at the Toigo Foundation --- the staff, the board, the fellows and alumni --- hold as our constant motivation and focus. It is the very focus that Bob Toigo and I shared when we founded this organization 16 years ago.

The Foundation has built on the support of our original core group of sponsors and now count among our ranks over 100 firms and a growing number of Fortune 500 companies that currently partner with us through financial contributions, thought-leadership and invaluable volunteerism. These firms have embraced our cause and have committed themselves to advancing diversity within their organizations to reflect the markets we serve.

From investment banking to real estate, public pension plans to investment management, private equity to hedge funds – established and emerging firms in every sector of the industry are champions of our mission.

I could not be more proud of the Toigo Alumni who are now establishing themselves in leadership roles in global financial firms, with plan sponsors and as creative and successful investors – directing and controlling billions of dollars of capital. They are now successful entrepreneurs leading their own firms and serving as trailblazers in the industry, continuing to inspire us with the heights of their achievements and the breadth of their career paths.

Each year, as we select and introduce a new class of Fellows, our mission --- to build tomorrow’s minority finance leaders --- gains momentum and moves forward one individual at a time. Collectively, they are one remarkable group!
