The Toigo Foundation offers the only MBA* graduate-level fellowship for individuals committed to a career in finance. As our more than 600 Toigo Fellows and Alumni will attest, becoming part of the Toigo family is an experience that will transform your personal and professional relationships.

What to Expect
Each year, the Foundation selects over 60 first and second year minority MBA students as Toigo Fellows. Our commitment to these talented up-and-coming minority professionals is to help each excel as a finance professional. We provide each Fellow with an introduction to an extensive network of finance firms and professionals, as well as mentoring, professional development training, finance industry insights, career coaching and employment services. The broad level of support continues throughout your entire career, not just while you are enrolled in business school. The Fellowship also includes a merit award of $5,000/year to be applied to each student's MBA tuition/costs – a valuable plus but by no means the true value of becoming a Fellow.

As a Fellow – and a member of the Toigo family – you commit to pursuing a career within the field of finance. This includes a wide range of career possibilities, from investment banking and asset management to alternative finance, institutional investing, consulting, corporate finance and more. You also commit to being an active and involved member of the Toigo community by networking, volunteering (as a mentor to incoming MBA students, for example), and providing financial support to the Foundation as your career begins to blossom.

What Becoming a Toigo Fellow Means
Toigo stands for leadership, excellence and integrity – and for our Fellows and Alumni that represents a valuable point of distinction from classmates and colleagues. When you become a Toigo Fellow, you join an unprecedented group of minority professionals, finance firms and supporters committed to changing the face of finance. The Toigo community represents an invaluable network for you at every phase of your career and professional development.

The more than 200 finance firms that support the Foundation as well as the thousands of finance professionals who have served as mentors and coaches or attended Toigo events know Toigo selects the best and brightest minority professionals to become Fellows. And, importantly, they know Toigo has developed best-in-class leadership development programs and career services to help all in the network thrive.

Qualities that Define a Toigo Fellow
Leadership potential is a core requirement for Fellowship – but that's just a starting point. Academic excellence is key (in order to become a Fellow, you must be entering an accredited, U.S.-based MBA program.) We also seek individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to social change and community responsibility, young men and women who have taken time to use their talent to help others.

We want young minority professionals who are passionate about pursuing a career in finance. But, that doesn't mean you have to be immersed in the field before embarking on your MBA studies. In fact, more than half of Toigo Fellows / MBA Class of 2009 are new to the field of finance. As career transitioners – many coming from engineering, sales and marketing backgrounds – these MBA students have identified finance as the career path they want to pursue. And Toigo is ready to help them succeed.

A commitment to excellence and integrity are essential character qualities for becoming a Fellow – and are a fundamental part what the Foundation represents.
