Leading Indictors | Futures & Options. Faced with the current economic downturn and an uncertain industry environment, many within the finance industry are reassessing their career options and future choices. In Toigo’s PULSE survey, many minority finance professionals expressed a strong interest in exploring non-traditional finance career paths. This shift means that once markets rebalance and hiring is again on the agenda, institutions and individuals alike will find a dramatically different landscape. Congressional Testimony. | Toigo's president Nancy Sims provided testimony before Congress on issues relating to diversity and retention of minority professionals within the field of finance. Recognizing the importance of the finance industry and diversity within the field to the U.S. and global economies, the committee invited Sims to offer insights into ways firms recruit and retain talented minority professionals, including the effectiveness of mentoring, performance management and other programs intended to help professionals succeed within the industry. The 2008 hearings were called in response to the 2006 publication of the U.S. Government Accountability Office's (US GAO) report, FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY: Overall Trends in Management-Level Diversity and Diversity Initiatives, 1993-2004.
Retention Returns: Insights for More Effective Diversity Initiatives. |The thought leadership report provides finance firms with insights regarding their diversity recruitment and retention efforts. Conducted in collaboration with Heidrick & Struggles, Retention Returns sparked an ongoing dialogue within industry. A series of client forums examining the findings included participation of Toigo Fellows offering first-hand perspectives.
Achieving Market Share Growth Through Investment Consulting Relationships. | The Toigo study identified opportunities and challenges faced by minority-owned investment firms and developing investment managers as they work to increase their market share of institutional assets under management.
Vault "View From the Top" Guide | Forward by Toigo Foundation President |Vault, one of the nation's largest publishers of career trends and hiring information, looked to Nancy Sims, president of the Toigo Foundation, to deliver the forward for View from the Top: Advice From Top Minority Executives which features dozens of success stories shared by minority leaders at all levels in a range of industries.
